Length of the Program

India mostly follow the four-year Bachelor Degree Programmes. Programmes in all Bachelor’s degrees are four year programs. Programs in medicine, pharmacy, law, nursing, architecture involve state licensure and hence extend beyond four years.

Major

The best part is the sheer choice of subjects and majors available to choose from. As an engineering student, you can enter into the program of your choice. While selecting your Universities, check if all of the options that interest you, are available.

Rankings

Review the rankings to see how well the program is placed. However, rankings are not the only criteria to consider while choosing your college/university.

Deadline

If you are looking at Top Universities, some of the Universities may have the application deadline. While other Universities may have different deadlines. Some may have special scholarship and financial deadlines. You need to consider all these while applying for a programme to any university

Test Requirements

Some universities in India would require you to submit the results of the certain Test to measures your verbal & written communication and mathematical skills. Make sure, you prepare well for this.

Accredited

Ensure that the university, you are applying to, is accredited.

Costs

The cost of the program can be pretty prohibitive. Hence, plan the extent to which your family can finance your education for the next four years. With this in mind, you can then choose which programs you will apply to. Also check for information on scholarships and financial aid available for students.

Location

If there is a preference in location, make a note of colleges/universities in that specific area. However, it would not be advisable to restrict your university selections of college/university based on location. If you need to earn your expenses during your studies, one shall select the town/city where jobs with better remuneration are easily available and where the cost of living is low.
